A clash over Battlegrounds

The vowel that’s not in team

It’s an attitude that raises red flags — I need you to help me, but I won’t help myself. That behavior just won’t fly. It goes beyond gaming and extends to any situation where you have to work with others.

World of Warcraft Wintergrasp Guide

When a match begins, defenders hold the 4 Towers at the corners of Wintergrasp Fortress, and attackers hold 3 Towers to south of the map. These Towers are defended with player-manned turrets, and attackers can earn bonus honor for destroying the Fortress Towers before capturing the Keep. Defenders can destroy the Towers to the south with vehicles. Not only does this transfer a special zone-wide buff from the attackers to the defenders, if all 3 Towers are destroyed, it also reduces the match time by 10 minutes.

Mists of Pandaria beta updates for death knights

Self-healing tier gets some TLC

Conversion’s become one of the more controversial and greatly argued talents of the new system. Some say it’s too powerful because you can turn it on and never run out of health regeneration as long as you have runic power. Others argue that it’s incredibly weak both because runic power generation has been nerfed in Mists and because it prevents you from using other runic power dumps, especially ones that do actual damage, which in turn prevents your rune regeneration abilities from activating. Regardless of which side you fall on, it’s generally acknowledged that only two-handed frost, thanks to Might of the Frozen Wastes, had the ability to keep it going for any significant amount of time.

I am starting to hate resto druids

Which leads us to the second question I asked on the beta: How did trees make out like bandits when bears are in such shambles?

Trees, bandits and bears

Actually, this is a bit misleading. First off, understand that I’m approaching this issue from the perspective of both a guardian and a restoration player and that I am terrified that the guardian playstyle has devolved into nothing more than

Horde zones to complete before Mists

Hillsbrad is quirky and downright weird in its ability to flip back and forth between serious and slapstick. The zone features plenty of tongue-in-cheek references to the Hillsbrad of old, where Alliance and Horde used to endlessly battle between Tarren Mill and Southshore, Helcular’s Rod was a weapon to be feared, and Drull and Tog’thar waited eternally in Durnholde Keep for rescue.

The only thing that makes PvP harder

Another element of PvPer jerk-ness is people who use emotes in battle. I wrote yet another Breakfast Topic about the use of /spit covering exactly this. One responder said you can turn off all emotes, but I haven’t worked out how just yet, so I’ll settle for just ignoring those people — not /ignoring, just not paying attention.

Mists of Pandaria Siege of Orgrimmar

Chris Metzen kicked off the Mists of Pandaria press event by explaining the tone and narrative goals of the expansion. Players have voiced concern because Mists of Pandaria does not have a clear, global threat in the vein of the Lich King or Deathwing. Rather, the conflict in this expansion is war itself. We will see the war between the Horde and the Alliance boil hotter than it has in years, and we will see the repercussions of that war, whether they be physical, spiritual, or something else entirely.
