End game talent spec
I would not respec any time soon if I were you. Feral is the best (easiest) spec to level with and do all the quests you will want to do up to 70. In addition, until you hit 70 you can actually do all three, DPS, tank, Heal (without respecing) in your 60′s and see which you like better. If you collect good healing gear (not hard to do pre-70) you can easiely off-spec heal pre-70 instances. I healed up to Seth halls with no problem as Feral spec (using blue/green +heal gear). When you get to the harder lv 69-70 instances off-spec healing gets much harder and will in fact fail if you don’t have a good group (which is often the case). Once you hit 70 you will have to make a decision on spec. By then you should have a good idea what you like and what is needed most on your server. DPS are a dime a dozzen. Tank and healers in general are more rare. On my server I can’t tell if tanks or healers are more lacking, groups always are looking for one, the other, or often both. I have found that Bear tanking is difficult in PUG because we have very few buttons to get or keep threat. What that means is that to tank as a Bear, it is a little more technical, and you really need a decient group that won’t mess things up and pull secondary mobs off you or CC that knows what they are doing. Again with PUG its 50/50 if everyone knows what they are doing and how to play with a Bear tank. Also Bear tanking (and tanking in general) is probably the most gear intensive role. If you are not one of the best geared in the group it can cause problems. Healing on the other hand is a more forgiving. Again, though collect three sets of gear (not to hard pre-70) and DPS, Tank, and Heal as a Feral up to 69-70 then decide. -75 BRD, 41 WHM, 68 WAR, 37 NIN, 21 BST, 20 MNK, 19 BLMOn my server, tanks are hard to come by. If you like to group, stick to feral and become a good tankI have a question with regards to what talent spec is looked for the most in end game situations. I know this can be dependent on the server, and I seem to see a lot of requests for a Resto. I’m trying to decide if I should re-spec. Currently I’m a level 57 spec’d Feral. I figure it won’t be too long before I hit the Outlands and when I get there I want to work towards gear that will help me the best. I don’t see myself staying with my current guild because they don’t seem to have the same goals as me. I.e. I want to raid and there just isn’t that many people in the guild and the leaders don’t want to add new people. So my question is would I be more if I respe’d to either Resto or maybe Restokin? I know some people would answer to spec by how I like to play. In answer to that; I like Feral but have not tried either Balance or Resto. I have an alt that is a level 29 Warlock so I know something of playing a caster. Also, as a Feral I prefer DPS in cat then tanking in bear. Thanks for any you can provide. O.O you guys weren’t kidding about Mangle
I’d hit a plateau in gearing up my tree, and I’d pretty much shelved her except when a guild group needed a healer. But I’ve had a pretty decent feral set gathering dust in the bank, and felt it would be a shame to get to Wrath without ever having tried it out. So on a whim at 3:30 this morning, I respecced. Since I leveled Balance and have been Resto since hitting 70, I have zero idea what I’m doing. I copied the spec from my favorite tanking buddy, and I’ve been reading the stickies to try to figure out which skills to use for what. My cat bar thus far has consisted of two buttons: prowl and dash. But I found a couple suggested skill cycles, and I wrote out a few macros. I bought some new bracers (I still hadn’t upgraded from Leesa’oh’s Wristbands) and a handful of cheap gems to get myself decent. I figured a nice place to try this new style out would be Legion Hold. The mobs are a couple levels below me, there aren’t any linked groups, you can see the elite pats coming a mile away, and I still need Aldor rep. I set up a sequence where I’d sneak up behind the demon, pounce -> mangle -> rake -> claw (if needed) -> ferocious bite. They melted. I’ve never seen stuff die so fast. I didn’t even get my finishing move in sometimes, even if I skipped claw. I’m a complete newbie in cast-off gear and cheap gems. What is it like when you’re actually good at this? You just look at the mob and it keels over?
First Boomkin
Your good, I’m currently at my girlfriends so this will be brief. Your build is fine and for the most part you want to utilize talents that will buff your damage. So anything that increases damage is what you want. For stats you’re main goal is spell I’ll go more into detail when I have more time and someone isn’t looking at me like I’m retarded for posting on a gaming forum, IE: My girlfriend.- Arex ~ Druid ? Ciant ~ Paladin Anyone have any thoughts on this? i’m now lvl 40 and want to make the change but don’t want to have to spend even more gold for totally messing it up in the first place. Things seem straight forward but i might be missing something that makes one talent head and shoulders above the others. Well as the post name says this will be my first boomkin. actually this will be my first druid at lvl 40. Now i am looking for a common build that works. i can up with this playing with the talent calc and don’t know if it will work right. as for gear i’ve picked up peices here and there mainly cloth as alot of the leather i’ve come across from questing and such hasn’t been caster oriented. so i will be a mix of leather and cloth for awhile. After 50 and i try mangle out if i want to be a boomkin or even go resto i will go and get more caster gear. SO i’m looking for specs or advice on my spec also looking on if gear makes that much of a differance in what my damage output will be. And is spell power the stat i should be going for or is it something else? Thanks for any advice. So heres the build i came up with
druid quest
Gratz on guru, horse. wdavis, welcome to the forum. You’ll get incredible value out of this forum, but please don’t use it as a crutch. Your first step as a new druid should be to read the sticky at the top of this board if you haven’t already done so. Since you’re asking about such a low level quest I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, assume you’re brand new to the game, and “teach you how to fish” as far as figuring out quests. I hope this info is helpful. Quest Help on the Web There’s TONS of helpful information about how to complete quests on the Web. I’ve found that Thotbott is the best place for detailed quest info and tips. Like this info about the Aquatic Form quest, for example. (Then from there I think Alla here has the best forums, wowwiki has the best general and dungeon/boss info, and wowhead has the best info about armor and weapons.) Real-time Quest Help in the Game I highly recommend you get a quest help addon. The two I’ve tried are Carbonite and Questhelper. Both mark quest objectives and turnin spots on your in-game map and put a little directional arrow on your screen so you always know exactly which way to go and how far to go to get where you need to be. Carbonite is very robust with a kickass map replacement that lets you zoom and do all kinds of fancy stuff, and gives you more over your quest sequence. Questhelper is an overlay over your default map and it lays out a plan of action for you to efficiently get you through all the quests in a given zone. Welcome to the best class in the game, and happy questing.- If ya wanna look me up and make fun of my gear and/or spec, I’m Thaytakeye, a Level 80 Furball Druid on MoonrunnerIts in the water near where you drown. You go far down and almost drown but they have a air water bubbles thing. I forget where it is but I think Alla has a quest section. They should have the coords there. Good luck.-Day light savings is for fools. need help finding the pendent for sealionAlso check out this. This site has a complete list of top items for each slot not just limited to pre-raid gear. You can adjust the number of items shown, I believe the default is set at 25. Thanks for this also, I’ve been looking to switch to resto as soon as I can complete my loremaster which seems about 2-3 days off, but I wondered what gear I would be able to get. Thank you. with whom I have lived, blade with whom I now die, serve right and justice one last time, seek one last heart of evil, still one last life of pain, cut well old friend, and then boomkin (74) but planning to change to resto at 80. I would like a list of resto gear that I can aim for once I finish leveling but cannot find any sites that list this for healers. Anyone know of a good healer site that lists best WotLK gear?
A Combo Points Addon?
They exist, I’ve looked up a few while I’m at work, but I have a specific question based on them. Does anyone know of a combo point addon that would let me move the location of the counter? It seems all the addons I’ve browsed still stick the counter either up on the target’s frame or to the hovering health bar (if activated). I want to be able to move the counter to an entirely different location so it would better fit into my UI setup. Basically, the reason I’m looking for this is because I’ve recently added DoTimers to my UI to keep track of all my relevant druid abilities. Being a feral DPS my rotation is very dependent on timing Mangle, Savage Roar and refreshing bleeds at the proper time, among other things. I keep these bars near the bottom of my screen, so as it ends up this is where my eyes are focused most of the time. While it isn’t necessarily a to just glance up at the enemy’s target frame to get a clear and precise count of my combo points, I find that after several hours of raiding I sort of can’t keep my eyes on the mobs due to all the AOE and general spell effects going on. It gives me a severe headache and in order to get a shot of my combo points my eyes have to pass over this huge flashing mess of colors hundreds of times in any given raid, if not thousands. Even with my spell effects down it’s still pretty strong and I hate it. Essentially, I just want to be able to move the combo point counter right next to my DoTimers bars. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Edit: Found one! does exactly what I want. Please disregard this thread. feral cat trinkets
Banner is a must have – farm that instance till you get it (can be very painful or very lucky). If you don’t want to splash out on the darkmmon card, then there are a few decent heroic trinkets – the Meteorite Whetstone from Utgarde Pinnacle and the Incisor Fragment from Drak’Tharon Keep are both pretty good. I would have recommended the Mirror of Truth for 40 Emblems of Heroism, but you only need 58 emblems to get your T8 Head or Chest and that would be a better spend of the emblems. -RareBeast: What are you trying to tell me? That I can out-tank & out-DPS them all? Druid Trainer: No RareBeast. I’m trying to tell you that when you have read the Feral Druid Numbers thread, you won’t have to.
Gearing a Tank
I’m gearing my druid and I realized just how different Bear Tanks need to gear relative to my Paladin Tank. So I have some general questions. I did read the sticky, but want to clarify….
1. Is tank gear the same as Melee gear… just Gem’d and Enchanted differently? Heck the T9 gear is the same… 2. As a paly I need to consider each piece (Does it drop me below Def value of 540). It seems like all I need is an item with more Stamina and more Agility… Is there something I’m missing here? 3. What are the stats needed to start heroics. As a Paly it was such a big deal to get I feel like this whole thing took about 3 seconds… 4. Should I gem for Agility or rely just on gear? (As a paly it was alway Def Cap, then Stamina, then Block Cap, then threat) 5. Are the LW pieces worth my time? As a paly the BS stuff was very helpful to reach Def Cap and get enough STA to avoid getting 1 or 2 shot…
This is my build rate it plz ( sry)
Barf. Thats about as good as you can do in survival but survival sucks :/ Even if you were going to use this build I’d take all the pts out of BM and put them into Lethal Shots and then find a place in MM to spend those other 3. Putting pets in a stable
Greates thing about WoW, its like almost everything else, you pay it once and its yours, dont have to pay again and again.-Wheels Darigraz to North wrote:I is not liking this idea of stepping in offices, the office of you is sounds like a Hottopic where all the transvestite makeup men hangs out and talks about havings sex with they fall out boy. Whys do they wants sex with nuclear freak?Thank you very much, was not aware of the 10 silver fee. The stable master will no doubt accomodate my pet once I pay the fee. Safe journeys to you. LOL, ok, talk to a stable master (usually found in front of an inn) Petopia has a list of all the stable locations. When you talk to them it shoudl bring up a window with three boxes at the bottom, two together (which you will have to purchase) and one off to the side, the one off to the side is your active pet. Drag the icon for your active pet to one of the slots that are together (assuming you have purchased one) and your pet is now stabled so you can go and tame something else. I think the first stable slot costs 10s, the other one costs 10g (don’t quote me on that) Happy Hunting-Wheels Darigraz to North wrote:I is not liking this idea of stepping in offices, the office of you is sounds like a Hottopic where all the transvestite makeup men hangs out and talks about havings sex with they fall out boy. EVERY QUESTION ANSWERED UP AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE!!!
It’s the norm unfortunately. If you scroll back through the many threads of just these hunter forums you’ll find many posts like your own here. The majority of people asking the questions are first time users who have maybe 1-3 posts under their belt and don’t care to read the top stickies because they can’t find their information fast enough, so they think that by posting something that’s already been listed for the ump-hundreth time, that it will appear faster then by actually doing a little research or reading the “Preferred Reading” section in the sticky. Solution? There isn’t one sadly, we can constantly tell people to read the Sticky, or we can even link it for them, but no one will ever listen, or read it. In a perfect world we wouldn’t even need these forums, but this world is inperfect, and that’s why we have George Bush for president =P-Iggi – Surivalist – Level 80 Orc Hunter Hunter’s Methods of CC(6th post down) Hunter’s Guide – Survival of the Fittest If you stopped comparing yourself to others, do you think you would enjoy life more? Now it seems to me like we keep getting the same questions over and over again for no simple reason, seriously, every thing hunter related (not quest or food or whatever) is answered in that post that says “Every Question Answered Here”. Maybe we need to create a sticky or 2 saying “How to choose what Pet” and inside it will say: “Go with what you like” Period end of post- no replies available. Maybe we need to create another one saying “If your Lazy and want quick answers, view this post” Inside it might say something like: “Stop being lazy and read through the posts till you find one that answeres your question, and trust us you WILL find one!” Any other Ideas?-Wheels Darigraz to North wrote:I is not liking this idea of stepping in offices, the office of you is sounds like a Hottopic where all the transvestite makeup men hangs out and talks about havings sex with they fall out boy.
