Runes of Magic: Chapter Two Review
By Cody ??eramaar??HargreavesRunes of Magic, arguably one of the better free to play MMORPGs on the market today, has recently received its second major content update, Chapter 2: The Elven Prophecy; and in a fashion not unlike the title that inspired it?? creation (World of Warcraft) players can expect to find more dungeons, more races, more classes, and a higher level cap to keep them busy in the many months to come. Runes of Magic – Chapter II The Elven Prophecy TrailerThe biggest addition included with the release of Chapter 2 is the second playable race, The Elves, bringing with it a new story arc, two new playable classes??he Warden (an all-new class featuring a pet system) and Druid (a substitute class for the Human Priest)??nd a new starting zone??he Elven Island??hat looks as though it were inspired by a Tolkien novel. Bridges connect to houses hidden amongst the trees, and magic oozes from every corner of the Academy. It?? definitely pretty and it?? definitely something worth checking out for yourself as soon as you get the chance.Moving on from the starting areas, Chapter 2 comes with plenty of new content for the higher level players too; specifically, those who have already reached the previous level cap of 50 and are looking to expand further. In Chapter 2, the level cap has been raised to 55, and three new regions have been added to help players reach their new goal. The new regions??he Weeping Coast, Savage Lands and Aotuila Volcano??ave all been designed specifically for players between levels 50 and 55, and each have their own specific flavour, too. While in The Weeping Coast players will be asked to unravel the mysteries that lay behind the Giant Gate; those questing in the Savage Lands will be forced to deal with the dreaded Naga; and too those in the Aotuila Volcano can expect a more fiery experience. Surely that much is expected from a P2P MMO, but to see it in the free-to-play world is a truly refreshing experience.Of course, in an MMORPG, questing is only half the battle. It is in the instanced dungeons that the true players will find themselves the real challenge, and in Chapter 2, there?? plenty of challenge to be had. Three new instanced dungeons have been added??he Origin (designed for 6 players at level 55), the Hall of Survivors (12 players at level 55), and the Heart of the Ocean (6 players at level 52)??longside two new public boss encounters??aranas Nightmare (150 players) and the Cave of the Water Dragon (normal boss encounter)??hat are sure to keep players busy for a long time to come. Then, to proverbially put the ??cing on the cake?? Chapter 2 offers players a new musical score, new player, enemy and environment animations, a new mini-game??he Course of Terror?? new cross-server PvP, and a new PvP Battle Scenario named Visdun Fortress that has been specifically designed as a tower defence game; offering players a new take on battle strategy and tactics as they attempt to fight each other off, while protecting their fortress from a wave of oncoming enemy advances. Truly, Chapter 2: The Elven Prophecy is an expansion that lives up to the amazing standards of Runes of Magic, offering players an amazing array of entertainment, at no cost at all!Click Here for More Information About the GameArticle Source: news.mmosite.com.
WoW-playing Legislative Candidate Talks About Her Level 70 Orc Hunter
Last week GamePolitics reported that Jeanne Stevens (left), Republican candidate for the Connecticut legislature, is a World of Warcraft gamer. In an detailed follow-up inteview with Stevens, MMO site Wandering Goblin learned that the would-be legislator maintains a trio of Horde avatars on the Alexstrasza server:It was my father who introduced us to WoW three years ago. The boys would watch him play and he’d let them make his characters jump and dance. Then my brother began playing and naturally I began too. We haven’t stopped since. I have three characters… a 70 Orc hunter (12 beast mastery, 26 marksman, 23 survival); 58 Troll shaman (43 elemental, 6 enhancement); and, a 53 Blood Elf rogue (36 assassination, 5 combat, 3 subtlety)… I dislike PvPand generally only tag my characters if I’m on a specific quest. I play to relax and typically will help one of my younger sons with their quests – they have multiple low level characters. I guess I’m mostly PvE.Gamers will be pleased to hear that candidate Stevens is no fan of video game legislation:Parents need to start parenting! You are the adult. You are responsible for what happens within your home. If you don’t like the content of a t.v. show, game, book, etc., don’t allow it in your home – that is your choice – you get to be the legislator, you make the laws of your home. Don’t abdicate that responsibility to the government. Exercise your own common sense – way back when, I enjoyed listening to Howard Stern on my commute to work – if he was getting too raunchy for my tastes, I changed the dial – and, I never listened to him if my kids were in the car.You won’t find GTA IV at the Stevens homestead, however:WoW is the sum total of my experience. We’ll get Lich King when it comes out. The boys play Xbox live, Halo and Call of Duty series, though Guitar Hero is getting quite a bit of play now. As a parent, I will not allow GTA in my home – that is my choice. If you’d like to play it in your home, go for it.Wandering Goblin even tossed in a Jack Thompson question. Stevens fielded it like a true politician:He’s entitled to his opinions. GP: Terrific interview by Wandering Goblin, even if they did mess up the title (The WoW-Playing Congressional Candidate). Stevens is running for the Connecticut House of Representatives, not the U.S. House.By the way, judging from the pic supplied by Stevens to Wandering Goblin, the candidate must have been munching on WoW’s Savoury Deviate Delight.Article Source: www.gamepolitics.com.
